Our veteran action book club will be a space to learn together about our own understanding and experiences of military service and veteran status while collaboratively engaging in service which promotes veteran well-being. The group is open to all students, faculty, and staff regardless of veteran-status.
As an ABC we'll select bi-weekly readings --often articles, book chapters, or short videos--which express diverse experiences of veterans. Together we'll also complete a remote service project which supports veterans. Readings and the project will be determined by the readers but might include:
Our virtual meeting time will also be decided by the members. This action book club is meant to be a meaningful opportunity in which we all fully participate, rather than an extra to-do or burden for your own wellness. We will treat each other with grace and understanding and adjust as needed. Initial logistics and conversations will be facilitated by Elizabeth Miller, OCE Assoc. Director.
