Commencement is an exciting time to celebrate the achievements of our graduating students. Faculty/staff and student volunteers support a variety of Commencement events including bell ringing, candlelight and graduation ceremonies.   All volunteers will be required to attend an orientation specific to their role with multiple dates and times offered. Stay tuned for more information!

For student volunteers:
  • Students who volunteer for two Commencement Weekend shifts are eligible for on-campus meals at no charge based on a pre-determined schedule and location.
  • Students who volunteer for one Commencement Weekend shift will be given one additional outdoor commencement ticket for their own graduation ceremony.
  • Students who volunteer for two or more Commencement Weekend shifts will be given two additional outdoor tickets for their own graduation ceremony. The maximum number of “earned” outdoor commencement tickets is two – regardless of number of volunteer shifts worked.

If you are an on-campus resident
seeking a housing extension beyond final exams in order to volunteer with Commencement Weekend, you are required to sign-up to work at least one of the Commencement Ceremonies. What you should know about your on-campus housing extension:
  • You must check-in and complete your volunteer assignment to qualify for a housing extension
  • If your plans change and you can no longer volunteer, you must cancel your participation by Wednesday, May 12
  • If you do not cancel AND do not show up for your assignment, your student account will be charged for extended housing
*Off-campus volunteers are assumed to have their own housing.
